What is Calcium Carbonate?
It is the most abundant mineral on Earth. And, depending on the deposit, it can be of extreme purity. It comes in the form of a natural product, and can be obtained by chemical process using less pure deposits: this is precipitated calcium carbonate.
The natural products come from deposits which date back, in the Pyrenees for example, from the lower Cretaceous Jurassic (130 million years) modified by the uplifts of the upper Cretaceous and the tertiary.
